Any photographs which are submitted and considered by the organisers not to be within the rules will not be judged.
Judges appointed by the organisers will choose the winners. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The judges will assess entries and agree a shortlist which will be judged by a panel. You may be contacted to supply a high-resolution file or print. Failure to produce a high-resolution file within a designated time period could eliminate an entrant from the shortlist.
Awards and Publicity
The Overall Winners prize is given to the photographer whose photograph is judged to be the most outstanding and memorable of all the entries. They will be awarded a first prize of £250 (in addition to their prize of category winner) and a framed A3 print of their photograph.
Winners and runners up of each of the individual competition categories will also receive great prizes from our sponsors and a certificate.
Winners and runners up will be announced at an awards event in the Great North Museum: Hancock that will take place in July 2017.
The winning pictures and best entries will be displayed in the Great North Museum: Hancock (Newcastle upon Tyne) during July-Sept 2017. After this some of the pictures will tour to other venues across the North East and could be on display for several years.
The winning entries will also be displayed on the websites of the organisers and could also be featured in the regional press and media.
Finalists agree to take part in post-competition publicity, for example attendance at an awards event.
The organisers will not share details of any entrants or voters with any third party without their permission, although prize winners’ details will be released to the media.
